Script for Jersey driver, NY Passenger teaser trailer.

Jenna: Nikky, don't you know where this stupid place is?

Nikky: I remember it being to the right when you come out of the Fourteenth Street stop

Jenna: You mean the "A" Train? Do I look like a conductor to you?

Nikky: Ooh, here it is Jenna, make this left!

Jenna: Ughh, you New Yorkers are all the same; you give directions as if the MTA made road- maps!

Nikky: Well at least I didn't grow up in the country, where you get your license at Twelve so you can drive farm equipment.

Jenna: I did not grow up in the country! I grew up in New Jersey.

Nikky: Country, New Jersey... same thing.

Things have been very exciting this week. After getting the syllabus and timeline off the NYU network (thanks Deb:) I had an epiphany! I came up with the idea for the trailer and a tagline for the trailer which will be the theme of the show. The Idea for the trailer is taken from the second scene of the pilot where Nikky and Jenna are going to get something "illicit". As they are on the way there, they get into an argument and start cracking jokes on each other (see next post for script). I wrote the script and did a vocal recording of it on my PDA and the length of it was exactly 30 seconds, the proper length for a commercial. I always like to make things that amuse me and the real litmus test for making a successful piece is if it makes me laugh. This recording pleased me and made me guffaw! The tagline is "Together they'll find the way." This theme carries throughout the many seasons of shows that will air. I have also begun the rough thumbnail shot sequence-boards so I'm indeed excited.

Narrative Sequence:
Nikky and Jenna drive up in Jenna's car to a seedy corner in NYC. They are both in outrageous disguises and Nikky hops out the car to "cop" something " illicit". As Jenna waits in the car tension mounts as she fears discovery of their "sinful escapade". Jenna's anxiety crescendos to panic and ultimately terror as Nikky returns to the car and they speed off.

Thesis Proposal:
In the decades that have recently passed there has been much fighting and legislation in America to assert equal human and civil rights for all its citizens. The truth, however, is that legislation is a means of enacting punishment for those who don't adhere to policy. True change comes from within one's mind and equality has to be demonstrated in order for the change to be initiated. By means of an animated television series reaching young women and men ages 13-21 this modeling of values could be an effective way of asserting human and civil rights and possibly affecting cultural mind change in American youth. Nikky and Jenna is a television show idea that has unique styling, progressive under-tones and laugh-out-loud humor that could meet the objective of initiating a change of viewpoint toward a more equitable American society. This type of vision could be realized in a boutique setting of a small animation house as opposed to a larger house where "tried and true" entertainment is produced. Since a smaller house need be employed, a new means of production need be established in order to meet the parameters of effective production in a smaller production venue. By creating a short animated clip from a scene from this show idea could demonstrate this means of production, illustrate the show's style and give a sample of its humor that could in turn generate interest in this proposal for a new T.V. show.
